MCFM is now using an automated system to make renewing faster and easier than ever. Before you renew, please review the following frequently asked questions. When you’re ready, click the renewal link at the bottom of this page.

Have a question we didn’t answer—or need more info on one that we did? Contact admin@MCFM.org.

How can I check my current membership type and expiration date?

Your current membership type is listed in your profile. Click “My Account” (navigation bar at top of page), and then select the “View” tab. You’ll see your membership type and expiration date under “Expiring membership.” While you’re there, be sure to check and update your member profile.

Will you always remind me to renew?

Yes. You’ll receive a series of email reminders before your expiration date. You may renew anytime before your expiration. When you renew, MCFM will extend your membership one year from your current expiration date.

What if I don’t renew by my expiration date?

MCFM will automatically deactivate your membership on your expiration date and all your member benefits will stop. Your online member listing(s) will be removed. As an expired member, you will have access only to the public section of the MCFM Web site and to the login page to renew. So it’s important that you renew by your expiration date!

My membership has already expired. Can I renew using the links below?

Yes. As a former member, you can still log in to access this “Renew Your Membership” page. You should not use the “Become a Member” page to renew!

Your renewed membership will expire one year from your reactivation date.

How much does it cost to renew?

Premium Annual Membership With Referral List: $150
Basic Annual Membership: $90

Remind me: What’s included in my membership?

Basic Annual Membership includes:

  • Newly updated website with more info and exclusive “Members Only” section
  • Online member listing (name/address/phone/fax/e-mail)
  • Frequent—and free!—professional development workshops
  • Annual Family Mediation Institute—attend at member rate
  • Certification program for qualified divorce mediators
  • Subscription to the “Family Mediation Quarterly” (current and back issues available online)
  • Access to MCFM’s network of mediators and allied professionals

Premium Annual Membership With Referral List and Profile is available to those who have completed 30 hours of mediation training and who are actively practicing mediation. This membership includes:

  • All the benefits of Basic Annual Membership
  • Enhanced profile in the online Referral List. Market yourself to prospective clients by showcasing your skills, training and experience. Get listed in advanced online searches, including practice areas and geographic location. You can even upload a photo!

If you have completed 30 hours of mediation training and are actively practicing mediation, the Premium Annual Membership With Referral List offers the best value for your membership dollar.

Can I switch membership types when I renew?

Yes. Select the appropriate renewal form below. Your new membership type will be recorded when you submit the renewal form.

What are the certifications that are now listed on the renewal form?

MCFM now requires certifications that enhance the mediation profession and protect MCFM, you and your clients.

New and renewing members must now certify that:
  • They are in good standing in their profession.
  • They will uphold MCFM's Standards of Practice. Review the MCFM Standards
  • They will hold MCFM harmless from claims arising from their mediation practices, including any errors or omissions in MCFM's directories.
  • If they are applying for a Premium Annual Membership With Referral List and Profile, they have completed 30 hours of mediation training and are actively practicing mediation.
You must make these certifications in order to renew. If you cannot certify these items, your renewal cannot be approved. Email admin@MCFM.org if you have questions.

What are the new mailing list fields in the renewal application?

You asked--and we delivered! Some of you told us that you wanted a separate mailing address for printed materials, so we've added mailing address fields to the renewal application. You must complete these fields. These fields will be visible to you in your member account but will not be visible to website visitors. You may update them the same as you do other fields in your member account.

PLEASE NOTE: MCFM will now use only the mailing address in your member account to mail printed materials to you, including the "Family Mediation Quarterly."  We know you don't want to miss the FMQ, so please keep your mailing address up-to-date!

How do I pay for my renewal?

MCFM presently accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We also accept checks. Just select the appropriate payment option on the payment form.

If you’re paying by credit card: Please enter your billing information on the payment form, not your member contact information. The name and billing address you enter on the payment form must match the name and billing address on record with your credit card company. MCFM’s credit card processor will decline your card if there is a mismatch. MCFM cannot process manual transactions at this time. If your credit card transaction will not go through, please select "pay by check" instead.

If you’re paying by check: Please make your check payable to “MCFM” and mail it as soon as you renew to:

MCFM
P.O. Box 59
Ashland, NH 03217-0059

MCFM will renew your membership upon receipt of payment.

Can you send a paper application that I can use to renew?

Sorry, no. You must renew online. MCFM no longer supports a manual renewal process, and we no longer offer printed applications. MCFM cannot file your online application for you because of the certifications and "digital" signature that are now required. You must submit your renewal application online so the automated system can process your renewal.

If you mail a check payment without submitting an online renewal application, your payment will be returned to you.

If you have problems with the online system, please contact admin@MCFM.org. MCFM will walk you through the process.

I have a question you didn’t answer. How do I contact you?

Email admin@MCFM.org. We’ll be happy to help.
