About MCFM
The Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation (MCFM) is a non-profit organization established over twenty-five years go by family mediators interested in sharing knowledge and setting guidelines for family mediation. is the oldest professional organization in Massachusetts dedicated to family mediation.
With over 250 members, MCFM sets standards to guide the professional practice of family mediation in Massachusetts, and offers a certification program for qualified members.
In addition to providing continuing educational programs, MCFM publishes the Family Mediation Quarterly, a publication that provides a forum in which MCFM family mediators and others write on topics of interest to mediators and the general public.
MCFM serves the general public of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and its members by providing information about divorce and family mediation. It also maintains a mediator referral directory so that people seeking services can find family mediators when issues arise. MCFM offers a comprehensive list of family mediators and dispute resolution professionals. Many members of MCFM are also mediation lawyers / attorneys practicing family law within Massachusetts and throughout New England. Other members are mental health professions, psychologists, and come from other backgrounds.
